Top 5 Cafes in OUG You Should Definitely Give A Shot
Hello all! It’s only the first month of
January but I’ve realised that my café-hopping quota is quite full. So I
thought I could blog about it ;P
Without further ado, here is my take on the
5 cafés that have become favourites of mine.
1. The Hub
No. 61, Jalan Hujan Rahmat,
Taman Overseas Union.

Business Hours: Mon-Wed (9am-6:30pm); Fri-Sun(9am-10:30pm);
Closed on Thursdays
If you love coffee, this is definitely the
coffee specialty place to taste the different blends of coffee. There’s a bean
roasting machine sitting placed prominently at the entrance.

Serving an interesting range of coffees –
medium roast to dark roast from various countries- , there is a wide selection
that would surely delight any caffeine addict.

Plus, check out The Hub’s skylight. It’s
definitely an Insta-worthy setting for customers to take café photos.

2. The Hound

Business Hours: 11am-8pm daily
Dog lovers, this is the ideal place for
you to enjoy a nice cup of coffee AND hang-out alongside a super cute beagle.
This lovely café is dog-friendly so you may bring your canine pet provided
they’re well-behaved XD

Moving on to the food (lol), there’s
plenty of yummy cake choices to choose from. Such sweet treats that go nicely
with the coffee served here.
3. Doors Café
No. 51, Jalan Hujan Emas 4,

Business Hours: Open daily from 10am – 12am except on
Thursdays
Laid-back with an arty ambience, this is a
café that delivers coffee, art and music in generous doses. You can find plenty
of ‘door-sy’ décor which gels well with its naming haha.

tasty light dishes such as pasta and cake.

4. Chaplang Kafe

Business Hours: Open daily from 11am – 12am; Sat – Sun (10am
– 12am) except on Thursdays
Craving for ice cream and waffles? This is
the place to satisfy your cravings! Together with G-Lat, discover
Malaysian-flavoured ice cream flavours. Crowd-favourites include coconut and
gula Melaka, as well as durian (yes!) flavour.
One notable dessert is the pandan waffle
aptly named Bulatan Kampung Pandan. What a sweet treat indeed!

5. Midsummer Night Café
No. 36A, jalan Awan Hijau,

Business Hours: Closed on Mondays; Open daily from 7pm –
12am; Sat – Sun (3pm – 12am)
Just a note that this café is non-halal : )
The environment will particularly please
avid moviegoers with plenty of movie and comic posters decorating the walls.

Try the signature Dream coffee: star-shaped
ice cubes + iced coffee + Gula Melaka + milk. It’s served DIY-style so you can
add the ingredients as you like.

The café also serves Japanese rice bowls.
The Crispy Pork Lard Rice Bowl comes highly recommended.
